I am keen to pick up a bunch of 52" sticks. I prefer cane shafts and want to try out a few head sizes and shapes. Any recommendations?

By Far, I like "Nano's" mallets! I also know a lot of top 9-10 goal Argentine pros like and use them. They are used by many people internationally. I bought some mallets while I was in Argentina, I wont give the name, because they don't compare to my Nano's, there was such a huge difference. You can contact Nano's 800.903.6266, 561.793.4911 They are in Wellington, Florida USA, their website www.polomallets.com/
Thanks! Will check em out.
Hi, I^ve just joined Polo Contacts, My brother and I own a polo saddlery in argentina. We often send mallets to every part of the world so let me know if you are interested.
When I played I used to use Grays, which are American but that was a long time ago. It depends on whether you want to import for yourself or on a business basis/ I have heard good things about nanos but if you need cheaper ones you can import from Pakistan, Mexico or Argentina

Zapalas are great but like the Adriano said forget even seeing the good canes. Even the American high goal players don't get in.
Zappala offer a custom service, everything from cane weight to the type and size of the handle and head. I think the biggest problem you may have is that you cannot get a feel for the stick without holding it in your hand -by that I mean is it well balanced, is the grip too big or the head too heavy or too light?

Every manufacturer will tell you their sticks are the best, but, many companies will reserve there best canes for the the pro's. Unless you have a contact who will select your sticks based on your requirements I recomend that you buy them locally to begin with until you find the type of stick that suits you.

The best way to avoid problems is to ask the visiting pro's if the are willing to sell any of their sticks, most will have some to sell on. That way you have some guarantee that they have been selected by someone who knows.
I agree with Trisha--Nano's is the best in the US
From the states- Tato's mallets. He's a great guy and makes what you want. In australia I have tried mallets from Country polo, a guy named Jorge. Look them up on line. Nice canes as well.He iports stuff from argentina, helmets etc.
Hugh,

George Woods New Zealand, I have got many from him and he can set them up anyway you like. Excellent service also.
i can recommend mallets from "villamil" (hurlingham). hernan is doing custom mallets per your request. for me the best mallet i have played so far (what might doesn't have to mean too much...) they're not really cheap, but think worth the money.

cheers marcel
Jorge Scanzi from Country Polo in Australia. He's based in Canungra, Queensland, but travels to Asia to hand select the canes and makes the mallets himself. He also imports a lot of good gear from Argentina etc... Good guy. Phone +61407037385
TOP in Pilar BA are probably the best at the moment...but it is always personal preference as some prefer particular brands for whatever reason...historical...groupie factor or whatever...good luck
