very recomendable are straight legs, so that you can swing without hitting against the legs!
have a special look at the ground of the hitting cage! so the ball can get back to the middle
I think the most important dimension of the woodenhorse is the height like a normal polopony which is 156cm - 160cm.

As an addition to the construction of the horse itself, seeing beginners on them, it pays to have a head and neck so that they get the feeling of swinging without hitting the horse in the head, equally a suitable length of body!
