When he appeared on Oprah, a colleague at work calls me up and says "oh the best polo player in the world was on Oprah today" - so there i was on google, searching for Adolfo Cambiaso and Oprah with no luck.

If he is the "face of polo" to any significant demographic, I'd reason that his significance is directly proportional to the size of that demographic, divided by the number of people in the world that are in any way associated with polo.
The question becomes "to how many people does Mr. Figueras represent the sport of polo?" Unfortunately, I have no data with which to answer that question, but perhaps you could write to Ralph Lauren and ask him for his advertising department's estimates.
