Hi Michele,
I can only give you an idea of our experiences. We start with kids from 5 years on, first making them confident on a back of a polo pony. Some of them are so talented that they soon start with their first stick and ball lessons. We use normal sized polo ponys, no Shetland ponies or other special kids horses. On our yearly camp in summer we concentrate on 5 days of polo, so we start on the camp with 10 years old ones, to make sure that we don't have problems with homesickness etc.
If you have some kids interested in coming in summer they will be welcome. Or if somebody wants to make a hospitation of how we are getting kids to play polo - just come over. Language is English and German. Find all information on www.polopartner.com. Best regards
Inge

Michelle why do u make it so difficult for yourself when there are several polo fields and polo yards in Normandy, just give the polo club de deauville a call and i am sure they can point you towards the right directions. Or email me at selsaeten@gmail.com and connect you with a friend of mine who has a yard there.

David
Michelle,

Unless you feel this is simply a one-off and the children will not progress beyond this session my advice would be to do as David suggests below and work with a local club who will be keen to promote Junior Polo. In this way you can better access the sport, the professionals and the professional/parents and patron/parents that will have children in the same position as you.

My wife and I have three daughters under 18 who started playing Pony Club Polo at the age of 5/6. We all play out of Hurtwood Park where the club's owners Jayne and Kenney Jones have been incredibly supportive with three children of their own playing junior polo over the past 15 years. http://www.hurtwoodparkpolo.co.uk/

We have been very fortunate in attracting some very committed professional parents, including Glen Gilmore, who are completely driven not just by their their own children's growth and development as polo players but of the development of Junior Polo as a whole.

Believe me there is little better for the children to see than the Captain of the Australian National Team coaching the squads !

Drop me a mail to stewart.mcgregor@esp-pics.co.uk if I can help further.
thankyou
I was tying to est if there was a interest for this in france but was just bad timing with the economy. imno relocating to portugal i hope x
