Certainly the high price of air transport from Argentina to the end destination adds a considerable cost to the price of a pony.

In the year 2012, it costs about US$ 7,500 to ship a pony to Europe or to Florida.

However, the price of a pony in Argentina can vary considerably. That is because there is a two tiered system: One price is for the natives, another price applies to foreigners. This is not all too uncommon a practice in many other countries as well. However, the price for a foreigner can be 2,3 or even 4 times as much as what a native will pay for the same horse, and that does not include shipping. This allows the Argentine player or the Argentine polo school to sell the horse at a profit.

For example, in the "Golden Polo Triangle" of Cañuelas, San Miguel del Monte and Lobos, a typical low goal pony sells to a foreingner for around $15,000 while a medium goal pony (20 goal) sells for about US$25,000.

When sold on consignment, the original owner receives only a small portion of this sale price, while the lion's share goes to the middleman who has contact to the foreigner.

We are now offering a different concept.

You can stay with us and try out horses directly from and with the horsebreeder. We supply the polo field, your house and meals, and we arrange for chukkers so that you can test your horse in a game situation.

We charge US$300 per night for a couple ($200 per night for a single.)

You deal directly with the horsebreeder. We can assist in translations (English and German) in the presence of the breeder.

We can also help you with the shipping of the horses.

It is like buying from a Factory Outlet!

Our breeder owns some 70 polo ponies, plus his young foals. This breeder previously sold his horses through polo schools but now he has the chance to pass savings directly on to you.

Some of his previous horses have been played at the 20 - 26 goal level in Argentina (under 4,5 and 6 goal players) and many have gone on to play in international European competitions.

buena idea !!! pensas que es ampliable?? es decir si se arma el mercado podemos arrimar caballos para que los prueben ??? realmente está faltando un lugar así.

éxitos

We have already seen the success of this system. This year a low goal novice from Germany, rated at a -2 handicap, came and tried out 30 of the horses and purchased 3 of them. The horses were sent to Germany in April. This month this player won the German Low Goal National Title (Deutsche Meisterschaft Low Goal) playing on two of these horses. What better testimony can there be?
