Did you know that every September 21st was declared by unanimous vote at the United Nations in 2001 as PEACE DAY ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FmEIP46B-E

POLO 4 PEACE began in 2008 , as a way of uniting the world's outstanding polo community in the noble cause of helping to spread the word about Peace Day´s Date; and as a bonus a vehicle to promote the sport of polo internationally in a positive way.

The idea is for us polo players to Play Polo 4 Peace every September 21st, at our own polo clubs worldwide, thereby communicating to fellow polo players on the field, plus our family and friends, the importance of this DATE. We all remember September 11th, polo players can help the world learn , and remember , that every year September 21st is World Wide PEACE Day, until it becomes a tradition like February 14th.

If we all add a grain of salt.....

On September 11th, 2008 Dr. Inge Schwenger confirm that "The Berliner Polo Club v. 1906 together with Polo Partner Berlin was to welcome a delegation of the Iraqi Army Team to a friendship chukkas in Berlin - Polo 4 Peace (Day) September 20th and 21st.

CNN International´s TV coverage of Dr. Inge´s Polo 4 Peace event referred to it as:
The best news out of Iraq since 2003¨. ¨

Bg, an Iraqi 2008 Polo 4 Peace participant, summed up the experience best:
The spring will coming to knock our door . the flowers will grow up again in our hearts with new hopes to all polo lovers . also make the polo ponies release once again to make us peace doves , when will we play polo 4 peace . Bg Salam

This weekend, my hero Dr. Inge does it again; By invitation of the Berliner Polo Club welcomes 8 young players from Mongolia to play in a Polo 4 Peace Tournament.

If you love polo, and you also love Peace, please feel invited to respond ¨ättending¨ (in my heart)¨ on Dr. Inge´s PCW Event page Polo 4 Peace at: http://www.polocontacts.com/events/polo-4-peace-mongolia-meets

Next September 21st, we hope you decide to join us by playing Polo 4 PEACE (Day).

PAZ,
Claudia

WOULD LOVE TO HELP WITH ANY FUTURE EVENTS!The 1986-1987 Cartier Polo Retrospective

The 1986-1987 exhibit “POLO IN AMERICA, A Retrospective Exhibition of Polo in the United States,” Organized and Sponsored by Cartier, Inc., in Palm Beach, brought together an unprecedented collection of historically important polo art and memorabilia. This exhibit was considered to be of such international importance that it was re-created for one month as a "polo museum" on the second floor of Cartier's historic Fifth Avenue building in June 1987.

Jeanne Chisholm endeavored exhaustively to get the vast majority of the objects lent to these exhibits donated to the permanent collection of the proposed National Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame in Lake Worth, Florida. Yet while they are still housed by the museum, most of them are not currently on display. It is our hope that soon they will be on view once again after proper cataloguing and archiving.

In its continued effort to serve the polo community, the Chisholm Gallery has posted a link to the original website cataloguing this important event, and will maintain this archive in conjunction with the Chisholm Gallery website. The link below will take you to a complete archive of the exhibit, photos and newspaper clippings. Enjoy!
