Inspired on Polo and using the same name of La Varzea team which plays in international circuit, the La Varzea Resort intends to be known as the “European Resort of Excellence for Polo practice and formation (horse and player)”, with 8 Polo fields with great quality and managed by one dedicated specialist (4 in place), Equestrian Center and training, with covered barn and ride tracks (in project), Boxes area, veterinary clinic and all animal support (in place/in project), Support specialized services of horses treatment and preparation (in place), Learning and training services, lessons, games, events and all kind of Polo activities (in place).

La Varzea Polo & Golf Resort yearly hosts two major Polo events. In March the club hosts The Treaty of Windsor Cup, a low-goal tournament with four chucker matches. Prior to the first tournament held in 2008, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II sent a personal message of congratulations to La Varzea, wishing the Polo Club continued success in hosting international events in Portugal. The other major tournament is The Polo Portugal Open that happens in May.
