and it relates to all sport horses as I find the same soft tissue disturbaces when any sport horse switches surfaces. polo does not have the huge burden of having games on totally different surface types but now many polo horses are conditioned on synthetic tracks so I find this pathology in them more than others. It predisposes to serious injury if tissue is not treated using phhysical medicine methods while the body adusts to changing forces/tissue tensions during training. My website has some information about the methods in veterinary practice I utilize and teach. thank you for your interest in this. important

I did write a similar article for The Blood Horse which is a racing publication and I wrote it such that owners could appreciate my findings. I would be very happy to send you a PDF copy of that if you would kindly send me the best email address to use. Back issues may also be available from the publisher- it was on the cover of the September 2008 issue.
