Ramiro Moy posted a discussionWhat is Polito?
The Polito is a sculptural piece that combines the fun of a polo “metegol” (table football game) with the design and uniqueness of a work of art.
Who created it?
It was created by a team of local professionals, designers, artists and artisan carpenters guided by Fernando Moy with the participation of Margarita Gordyn, sculptor and artist respectively
Which materials were used for its manufacture?
It is made with morello cherry tree and cedar woods. They are top-quality selected woods with a natural drying process.
For a better finish, the wood is finely polished and sanded and a polyurethane sheen of German origin is applied.
The field surface is covered with top-quality Argentine leather.
The mechanism was exclusively thought, measured and designed for the Polito by specialized engineers. It is manufactured on solid stainless steel bars with
teflon bushings and specially designed steel springs. It has solid lapacho (ipe) wood turned handles.
The horses are the result of the artistic work of Margarita Gordyn. After making several outlines and aluminium smelting tests the artist achieved the perfect balance between art and function. The foundry and polishing process are totally handcrafted.
Which are the dimensions?
Height: 88 cm
Length: 150 cm
Table Width: 84 cm
Width with handles: 208 cm.
What is the origin of the materials?
They are specially selected and entirely Argentine.
Is it really a game?
Yes, it is. Its stainless steel mechanism, its handles and the location and position of the horses allow the players to maneuver them and play a match as in the traditional “metegol”.
How long does its manufacture take?
It takes between 60 and 90 days because it is handcrafted.
Is it shipped to the interior of the country?
Yes, the shipping costs to any place in the interior of the country can be quoted.
Is it shipped overseas?
Yes, shipping overseas is quoted.
Is it custom-made?
Yes, customers can choose the colour of the wood and of the field according to their taste and convenience.
How is Polito’s final presentation?
It is presented in a specially designed cover.
