Hello Vik,

I believe you are in the Real Estate business.

I wanted to ask you if you have been able to read within PCW in Marketplace - Real Estate = Polo Farm with Internationally Recognized Registered Brand that Hugh Evans was so kind to post it on my behalf. The MOST important detail is the BRAND, VERY known in Europe !!! If you want more information/pictures or any other, please contact me at lucrecia@reiga.com.ar
IT IS AN INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY in the heart of Polo area of Buenos Aires!!

I can reveal the name to whom eventually could have interest in this Polo Farm. The two strong points: 1) the beauty of this “Campo” plus the existing infrastructure 2) the NAME.

My kind regards,
Lucrecia

yes Vik - the area is extremely rich in history and culture. As a friend who's a colonel in the PK army (and a Pathan himself) put it "the Pathans cannot be defeated - but they can be bribed". They've made short work of everybody who ever tried to hold the region - except the British who were smart enough to pay them - to make short work of the rest of the sub-continent. By all accounts the Pathan cavalry were unrivalled in the Raj.
The local goverment have preserved the regions cultural history - regardless of the religious backgrounds of those who left it - and are more than happy to provide guides. Being a bit of a barbarian, my favourite bit of history is the very fine homemade wine, produced from the vines Alexander the Great's army planted.

Hi Vic, In Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, we played in 3 polo fields, Namely The Royal Selangor Polo Club , Bukit Kiara Polo Club and at The PutraJaya field, the latter is not a club but just a field whereas the other clubs are members club with polo facilities. Another polo field and club but belong to the Royal Pahang family is in Pekan, Pahang another state in Malaysia. I am currently here for a polo tournament till end of this week.

Vik, you'd be most welcome and I'm sure you'd be treated as an honored guest, in your own right. People in that region have long memories.
I'll keep you posted about the dates we're planning to be there - but will probably be heading up around the end of june to be ready for shandur festival first week of July. We have excellent relations with the tribal leaders, local government and military, so I can assure you, you'll be safer than you'd be at home.

I believe that the people of the North Western Frontier Province's only crime was to be geographically in the centre of the supply line to afghanistan - so they've been dragged into the US disaster. And, before we blame the taliban - we need to remember who it was that armed and trained them in the first place - the good old US of A.
Very sad, but fortunately the incidents are more isolated than the international press leads us to believe. I WILL be in the Northern Areas this summer, with my wife - enjoying age-old hospitality, fresh air and damn good polo.

You come from an amazing place Vik - totally fell in love with the region and will be back there this summer to fulfill a lifelong dream of playing at Shandur (just 1 of the warm-up matches of course).
The Northern Polo Assoc is doing a fantastic job keeping the game alive, but of course cash is always an obstacle. We are actually planning to take tours up and give people a chance to play the 'real' game - but I have a feeling last weeks events in Lahore kinda put paid to that. We'll still be going, as I feel safer there than just about anywhere on earth - but, unfortunately, it's hard to convince people that they're entirely safe - with all the trouble happening a few hundred kms away in swat & peshuwar

hi Vik
Love the pics of the tribal polo. We had the opportunity of playing in Gilgit in the Northern areas of Pakistan, last year - no rules, 1 pony per rider, drums beating throughout. It was brilliant. Where is this?

That is sort of surreal thinking we both sat on that bench...that actually moves me deeply on a spiritual level as I am sure there is THAT one bench and maybe one wayyyy to the right...glad you liked the pictures...we are indeed ALL connected with or without ASW which if you look at that fast the letters ASW it looks like an acronyn fro something else...nto sure why you didnt find me...maybe you put a space in between or not the space between the LA and CORTE of my name...or maybe you put Palm Beach instead of NY??? now you have me curious!!!! Where is this poem? Imust see it...also sisnt understand the first line sof your note below...are you from California or Mumbai or New Delhi???? Its not clear what you wrote.
