Beyond The Call of Duty

Some of you may have not heard that there was a big storm in Scotland this week which knocked out all the electricity for two days. The club's water supply is provided via a water pump which needs electricity to run so our horses were without water.

I was in Sotogrande and got frantic text messages from my groom. A call to a local farmer to see if he could help led to a local fireman suggesting he phoned 999 to see if the firebrigade could help. It did, they were at the club within…

hooked up through PCW

I hooked up with some friends in polo who contacted me through PCW in Singapore last week - Anna Heinrich, her brother Basti and her partner Dan... lovely people. We had a great meal at a little French restuarant in Club St followed by a few slings at Raffles Hotel - a little cliche, but hey... had to be done. I was busting for a good steak and pommes frites after an overdose of Singa hotel buffets. Really hit the spot.
