2010 The 2nd Beijing International Polo Open Tournament
2010 the 2nd Beijing International Polo Open Tournament, which was organized by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural, as well as People's Government of Yanqing County, was perfect finished on September 23rd at Beijing Sunny Times Polo Club. After exciting fight among China Piaget representative team, Riverlands team of Australia, Miele-Chile team, and Wanstead team from New Zealand, the Miele-Chile team has finally won this tournament at the score of 5 : 4.5, and the Championship Cup of 2010 the 2nd Beijing International Polo Open Tournament, while the Riverlands team from Australia won the Second Place Trophy. Christophe Philippe Levrat, number 3 of Australia Riverlands team, was the Best Player of this tournament.
In order to award the efforts and contributions that Mr. Xia Yang, who is the president of Beijing Sunny Times Polo Club, have done for promoting the development of polo in China, especially for the special contribution of promoting the communication between China and Chile, a trophy which represents the polo friendship between China and Chile was presented to him, which was commissioned by the Chief of embassy acts as ambassador. The Brand of Piaget who has 30yrs’ origin about POLO also fully supported this polo tournament, and offered the special official calculagraph to the tournament, as a sponsor of the Beijing Sunny Times Polo Club team from China. In order to express their thanks to Mr. Xia Yang, who is the Executive Director of polo Committee of the Chinese Equestrian Association and the director of Beijing International Polo Open Tournament, Piaget, the Europe’s premier brand, especially prepared a watch--Polo FortyFive, which refers to the deep relationships between Piaget and polo sports, and presented it as a gift to the Beijing Sunny Times Polo Club to express its focus on polo sports, and also wants to make a contribution to the development of polo in China.
For increasing and enhancing the cultural communication between these two paties, Beijing Sunny Times Polo Club also prepared a handsome gift to the Piaget. This silk embroidery which called Pictures of Tang maid playing polo, was elaborately embroidered by a senior embroidering woman and taken her one year and a half. It shows the scene of Tang women playing polo vividly. This elaborately prepared artistic production represents not only the long history of polo in China, but also the relationships and communications between Sunny Times Polo Club and Piaget in the field of polo culture.
Beijing International Polo Open Tournament, which is known as the wind vane of the development of polo in China, is the only International polo event in China which sponsors by the government and with the largest scale and authority. It is also another major international boutique event that mainly supported by Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, just following the China Tennis Open Tournament, Beijing International Marathon, as well as the World Snooker China Open Tournament.
