Bobby Barry was one of the good guys in polo. He had overcome a bad, and I mean bad bout with cancer a few years back.
He was probably the most respected umpire in the program.
He and I almost drowned together in The Snake river one time. We were white water rafting with Adolphus Busch and he wanted to free float a class 3 or 4 rapid, so Bobby and I went with him. Needless to say by the time we got out of that rapid we barely, and I mean barely made it to shore!
He had a great smile and attitude about life, and always friendly.
He will definately be missed.

I'm sorry you and/or yours have also been touched by Andy Stack.
Mike Azzaro and I were both raised in Chicago, we are still friends and we had dinner together while I was in Fla for the open semis and final. That is where I first heard about this guy.
Its not the first time nor the last something like this happens, but I really believe that everyone must be made aware of his antics so that if someone does decide to work or play for him they know to collect all money up front.
If they are aware and still choose to take his word then thats their problem.
From what I know he does love polo, he just needs to be made aware of the ethics that are supposed to be involved. Passion isn't enough, legitimacy is what its all about.

Andrew, My 3 boys (triplets - 12 yrs old ) are river rats and spending the summer on the Comal in New Braunfels. I spend many months a year in the hill country of Texas. Do you ever get to Argentina to play polo ? Claudia
